Gay People Should be Up in arms Over Kardashian's Wed/Divorce Game

Dr Drew tells it like he sees it and he took off the gloves when discussing the divorce of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. The HNL talk show host penned an article on Tuesday that blamed America for buying into a doomed situation and was understandably upset that Kim Kardashian cheapened the institution of marriage. The good doctor also took a well-deserved swipe at Kris Humphries calling him naive.
Knowing a thing or two about marriage as he has been married for years, Dr Drew is angered. As he so readilypoints out, same sex couples have been fighting for rights to have a simple marriage and a reality star not only had a million dollar marriage, but didn’t appreciate it enough to work on it so it could be successful and after 72 days trashed it.
“I really think this is disheartening and maybe infuriating to gay people that are fighting desperately for this right, and here, somebody is profiteering,” said Dr Drew. “It’s making a sham out of something that should be taken more seriously.”
Getting very pointed, Dr. Drew actually questioned whether or not this was a casting call by E! television. Frankly, many people in the entertainment business have questioned this privately as there were so many rumors, but stepping up and asking the question has really made fans angered.
“Was this a casting call? That to me is disgusting. I think Humphries believed in marriage - but not the fairy tale we had to see on TV,” writes Dr. Drew.  “I don't think he was happy with the cameras or any of this.”
The Kardashian brand has always brought in a certain level of questioning when it comes to real verses entertainment. Reality television skews the line of truth in so many ways, but using a marriage to make money, like Dr Drew asserted, isn’t cool. With so many people  not having this simple right, marriage should be taken seriously and should come prior to the almighty buck.

To appear or not to appear? That is the question.

The same day she filed for divorceKim Kardashian jetted off to Australia to launch her Kardashian Kollection purse line at a party in Sydney. Meanwhile, her estranged husband Kris Humphries is canceling a planned appearance in Las Vegas this weekend.

Humphries, who appeared in sexy shirtless ads to promote the event, was scheduled to host a party Saturday at the Chateau Nightclub inside Sin City's Paris Hotel. But since learning that his wife of 72 days filed for divorce, the "devastated" basketball player will be a no-show, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

Humphries, who is at home with family and friends in Minnesota, is "very sad," says a source. "He's just processing it all."

Kardashian, who took off from L.A. Monday night, is "heartbroken," says a source close to the star. "But she's holding up okay. Neither of them wanted it to end this way."

Rick Perry’s Record Breaking Drunk Speech

{Below You will read a story posted by Salon.com. But as the tittle states adamfoxie* says that this man was drunk. You listen for yourselves and make up your opinion.}

After officially filing for his presidential candidacy in New Hampshire, Rick Perry shocked some supporters with a bizarre speech that raised questions about his sobriety.

The video: Texas Gov. Rick Perry raised some eyebrows — and questions about his sobriety — with an unusually expressive speech to a conservative group in Manchester, N.H., on Friday. In the speech, Perry ditched his typically reserved style and instead employed "the sort of tics, facial contortions, mimes, and muggings that one would expect from a comic performer," says Thomas Lane atTalking Points Memo. The media scuttlebutt is largely based on an anonymously posted YouTube compilation of "highlights" from the speech (watch the clip below), but even some in attendance were perplexed. "It was different," Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas told The Huffington Post. Another GOP operative said it reminded him of Democrat Howard Dean's race-ending "scream" in 2004. Perry's campaign's response? The speech simply proves that Perry is "passionate about the issues he talks about."
The reaction: Perry's performance was "truly bizarre," says Libby Spencer at The Impolitic. "He comes off as pretty well drunk. Or drugged." Yes, and though it's not a crime to be "pretty publicly lit," it's almost certainly bad politics for a presidential hopeful, says Andrew Sullivan at The Daily Beast. Well, I doubt he's drunk, says Josh Feldman at Mediaite. But his exuberance is "fun to watch." I bet "Alec Baldwin will appreciate the material for his next Perry impersonation. Look, "we're not saying that he's definitely drunk," says Max Read at Gawker, "we're just saying, watch the whole thing" and judge for yourself. Have a look:

College in Ga. USA } Swear You Are A Christian or You Are Fired! Is this Christian or American?

University To Staff: Swear You’re Not Gay Or You’re Fired
A Christian college in Georgia is asking all employees to sign a “personal lifestyle statement” declaring their heterosexuality.
Shorter University instituted the pledge in late October, the GA Voice reports, and it reads, in part, “I reject as acceptable all sexual activity not in agreement with the Bible, including, but not limited to, premarital sex, adultery and homosexuality.”
According to university president Don Dowless, the pledge doesn’t intend to offend. “Our goal is to declare who we are” he told WSB-TV. But if you don’t sign it, your job may be at risk.
“Anybody who adheres to a lifestyle that is outside of what the biblical mandate is, what the board has passed, including the president, would not be allowed to continue here,” Dowless added.
Since Shorter University is a private college, and doesn’t receive public funds, the move is legal, WSB-TV reports. And Dowless says similar pledges are not uncommon at other Christian universities. “These are biblical positions,” he said.
Shorter University released the following statement from Dowless:
… The desire of the Board of Trustees was to clearly state our beliefs and put them in a form that would be readily available for anyone who wanted to know more about our university. We are a Christ-centered institution committed to excellence in academics. Through our policies, we seek to honor Jesus Christ. We understand that there are those who do not agree with our beliefs. We are not trying to undermine their right to those beliefs, but want to be transparent about our own.

All employees of the university will be required to sign the policy documents as a condition of continuing employment. This will be part of the faculty contract and staff agreement renewal process next year. Anyone who chooses not to sign the documents will be choosing to end their employment with the university. The documents are currently a part of the hiring process for any new employees coming to the university.

Two Yr Anniversary in Which Cop Was Dragged to Phyco Center by Cops

This story is being followed by Graham Rayman
and the Villagevoice.com.  Adamfoxie* is been posting the story because it reflects a mistreatment of another cop by the cops. Now imagine if this individual was not even related to the family of the ‘Finest' in NYC and had a story to tell. Imagine how he/she could be dragged though the dirt so the story would be discredited. There ways to tell wether an individual’s story is true or not without going personally and morally against the individual with the story. This is a story that wont go away and someone here is lying and someone is telling the truth. Hopefully by The village voice putting light into it we will find out the truth and the why’s.

Halloween Night marked the two-year anniversary of the night that NYPD brass dragged Police Officer Adrian Schoolcraft from his apartment and forced him into the Jamaica Hospital Psychiatric Ward.--an episode which was the subject of the award-winning Village Voice series, "The NYPD Tapes."
Schoolcraft alleged that commanders in the 81st Precinct in Brooklyn were downgrading complaints to keep the crime statistics low. Three weeks after he reported these allegations to department investigators, police dragged him from his home on Halloween, 2009 and forced him into the Jamaica Hospital Psychiatric Ward for six days. (His precinct commander, by the way, was subsequently charged with tampering with crime reports and transferred--vindicating Schoolcraft's allegations.)
So, as we were recalling that appalling episode today, who should walk through the doors of the Voice, but yet another New Yorker who tried to report a felony and saw police downgrade his complaint to a misdemeanor.

Zev Yourman, a 44-year-old Brighton Beach community activist, tells the Voice he was grabbed from behind and punched by an unknown assailant on July 25, 2010. The attack left marks and bruising on his arm. The assailant also threatened to kill him, before he was scared off by a passerby.
But when Yourman went to the 60th Precinct stationhouse in Coney Island later that day to report it, he says police treated his complaint like an annoyance.
First, he says, 60th Precinct officers made him wait for two hours before sending a cop to take his complaint. "There were cops there just hanging out, but no one would come talk to me," he says.
Finally, an Officer Richard Santora brought him into an interview room to speak with him. Santora initially tried to dissuade him from taking the complaint. "I was in pain, and I showed him the marks on my arm," he says. "He says something to the effect of 'why are you bothering me with this. This is a nothing thing.'"
Yourman says he pointed to the marks on his arm, and Santora said, "That's just harassment," not assault or attempted robbery.
Finally, Santora took down the report, and Yourman left the precinct. On Aug. 3, 2010, he traveled by subway to police headquarters where he obtained a copy of the complaint. He was shocked by what Santora had written.
Not only had Santora listed Yourman as a female, he had classified the attack as harassment, a misdemeanor, instead of assault and attempted robbery. Even though he had seen the marks on Yourman's arm, the officer wrote there were "no injuries."
Perhaps more troublingly, two supervising sergeants in the precinct, Zahid and Sitro, had signed off on the Santora's work.
Yourman filed a complaint with the Civilian Complaint Review Board. The CCRB referred him back to the precinct. Eventually, Yourman got a call that October from a Sgt. Cohen. Their conversation was brief.
"He just said 'we're not going to change it," Yourman says.
There's no indication from documents that the 60th Precinct lifted a finger to investigate Yourman's complaint.
The NYPD Patrol Guide states: "Proper complaint reporting is essential...Every member of the service involved in this process has a responsibility and obligation to ensure the integrity of this vital strategic resource."
So, why would Santora misclassify the complaint, when it's a violation of the patrol guide?
"Their motivation is downgrading the crime statistics so the precinct commander can get promoted," Yourman says. "Look, if what I'm saying is false, they can arrest me for filing a false complaint. That's their remedy."
Even though he had been rebuffed, Yourman didn't let the matter drop. Instead, acting as his own lawyer, he filed a lawsuit in Brooklyn court to compel the NYPD to change the complaint report. He attached a copy of one of the articles in the Voice series to bolster his claim that downgrading happens in the NYPD.
Rather than just change the report, the city decided to fight the lawsuit. Assistant Corporation Counsel Margot Miller took the curious position that the NYPD can classify incidents any way they want to, and there's nothing in the laws and rules of the city that requires them to change their minds.
So what she's saying basically is that if you get beat up, the police can call it harassment, not investigate it and that's okay.
Miller goes on to parse the penal law and argue that despite what Yourman says, he was "harassed," not the victim of an assault and attempted robbery.
Does Mayor Bloomberg really want that to be the message from City Hall?
Molloy College criminologist John Eterno, a former NYPD captain, says complaints have to be classified accurately to develop the information needed to fight crime.
"Clearly, they are violating their own rules, and they aren't serving the public by downgrading these things," he says. "This is another example of what is a citywide
problem. Moreover, filing a false report is a crime, even for a police officer. This might even rise to that level."
A judge is currently considering Yourman's motion to compel. But his story echoes that of dozens of other New Yorkers who have had similar problems with police taking their complaints. In January, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly appointed three former federal prosecutors to examine these complaints. He declared they would be finished with their work in June. To date, all we have is the sound of crickets.
Schoolcraft's lawsuit, meanwhile, has been dragging its way through the courts. He claims police violated his civil rights. You can listen to the excellent This American Life segment on his ordeal here.
